Shore A hardness
Shore A measures how far a standardized point presses into the cured rubber. Lower numbers flex and stretch; higher numbers resist pressure. Slide the marker to compare values to everyday objects.

Pliable and springs back.
Tear strength
Tear strength (pounds per inch, ASTM D624) is how well the cured rubber resists a small nick growing into a rip. Higher values survive repeated demolding, undercuts, and thin cross-sections. Lower values suit simple molds and gentler handling.
Mixed viscosity
Viscosity is how readily the mixed rubber flows, measured in centipoise (cps). Low viscosity pours thin and captures fine detail. High viscosity holds its position on vertical surfaces.

Cure type
Both cure at room temperature into flexible molds. The catalyst chemistry differs, and that drives the choice.
